Visual Inspection
Introduction

Visual inspection relies on technologic instruments instead of raw human eyes to measure targets and draw conclusions. Imaging devices, such as CCD and CMOS, are used to capture the target into image signals, and then the signals are sent to the image processing system and converted into digital signals based on the pixel layout, brightness, color, etc. A set of algorithms are used to draw conclusions and tell features of the target, which helps decide the site equipment operations. Visual inspection adds significant values to production, assembly, or packaging for quality inspection and control. In this case, no defect shall find its way to consumers.
