Yaw Drive
Windmills have been used for centuries to grind flour or pump water, and today wind turbines are used to generate electricity. Because the wind does not blow in a constant direction, the wind turbine needs to constantly adjust the direction of the impeller to make it blow in the direction of the wind. This function realized by the yaw system enables the wind turbine generator to track the change of wind direction, and the unit can achieve the maximum power output, generate as much power as possible, and play the potential capacity of the equipment. On the other hand, excellent units are more concerned with generating power with lower loss and lower failure rate to realize rapid cost sharing and create the best wind farm benefits. Yaw system is controlled by engine room position closed loop. The wind direction is measured by the wind vane installed at the rear of the engine room, and the angle difference between the wind vane and the engine room position detected by the fan position encoder is calculated. When the angle difference exceeds the specified value, the fan controller controls the driver to start the yaw drive mechanism to adjust the direction of the engine room until the deviation is within the range of the set value, so as to achieve the purpose of wind control.
